Mobile DJ Tips. Practice makes perfect or at least for a better performance. As a MobileDJ you have got to make time to practice your craft. Everything we do is built around time. Time to get gear, practice, advertise, book gigs etc. But all this being done and said it makes absolute sense to practice every chance you get. If you want to see and hear steady improvement on your skills that will shine through at your next gig then try to always set aside time for practice. If you choose not to practice it will make no difference how good your equipment is or how nice your set up looks to the client the only thing that they will see and hear is that you were not on your game and the end result is you did not make their event a top priority by practicing. The event was compromised and you the DJ are to blame. Practicing is not only professional it is also respectful and as a mobile DJ booking paid gigs this is what you are expected to be. Respectful of your clients time and professional in executing your duties as the DJ. So in conclusion whether you are being paid or doing your buddy a solid be professional and respectful and show up for your practice sessions you will be happy you did and so will your client. Take care and we will see you inside the next video.

DJ Tip – Transition To Lower BPMs – – ProBeatzMaker

So how do you transition from uptempo 120+ bpm to a lower tempo without crashing the beat… is it possible? Of course it is!

In this video I show you how to transition using the tempo fader on your turntable/controller while sampling a snare hit, all while keeping the rhythm. 128- 87 BPMs

Remember… be creative and don’t be afraid to make mistakes!

Comments & thoughts? Let me know. Thanks for watching 🙂

DJ tips: needles – – ProBeatzMaker

What kind of needles should you buy for your turntables?

There are all kinds of needles and there isn’t one ‘best’ needle, but there are a few brands that can be found on most DJ’s setups: Stanton, Ortofon and Sure.

Over the last three decades these brands have been responsible for some of the most iconic needles and in this video I’ll show you some of my favorite needles from back in the days all the way to my current set.

Of course, I’m speaking from a turntablist point of view, but all the needles mentioned in this video are also very suitable for ‘normal’ use.

DJ tips: how to improve the quality of your audio recording – – ProBeatzMaker

I want to share a few simple tips that can help to improve the quality of your audio recordings (mixes).
For the more experienced DJ’s none of these tips will be new, but if you’re just starting out it could be very useful information.

Of course, there’s a lot more, but let’s start with these tips:

– Use high quality audio files from stores, DJ pools or CD rips. No YouTube files!
– MP3’s must be at least 192Kbps, but 320Kbps would be best.
– Use higher quality audio RCA/XLR cables.
– Invest in a good external audio interface for better recordings.
– Watch your audio output and recording levels. Stay in the green!
