DJ Tips in under a minute: microphone placement for a ceremony. I started doing this set-up about 4 months ago and it works REALLY well. I place the microphone between the officiant and the bride and groom, but I place it straight up or pointed slightly forward to the bride and groom. The biggest thing is height, I drop the stnad down about 6″-8″ below the three of them and I find that it picks up everyones voices perfectly! Try it at your next ceremony sound check and just see it works for you, it should be great. The main benefit is for the close up photos, they don’t have the microphone in the B&G faces!!
