DJ Tutorial – 4 Essential Mixing Techniques You MUST Master!

In this video the Dj will go over 4 essential basic mixing techniques you should learn to master when you get started DJing.

 

DJING MIXING TECHNIQUE 1: Cutting

Cutting this transition essentially refers to cutting from one track across another with both volumes high and one side
motion.

DJING MIXING TECHNIQUE 2: Fading

Fading is an essential technique in DJing, moving from one track to another a smoothly as possible by lowing the volume of the cueed up track whilst increasing the volume of the second track.

DJING MIXING TECHNIQUE 3: The Spin Back

The spin back is a great DJ mixing technique to master. The way to do a spin back is to lower the volume of the out track, then place your hand at 10 o’clock on the record and violently spin the record to create a Twirling sound.

DJING MIXING TECHNIQUE 4: The rewind

The rewind it’s similar to the spin back except you have to maintain the spin for longer. Place your hand inside the needle and continually spin the record around at a fast rate.
